Rising Moon Organics creamy artichoke and olive ravioli

4

Pleasant kalamata olive flavor, artichokes undetectable. Nice when served with sauteed mushrooms or mushroom gravy.

Newman's Own organic dark espresso chocolate bar

5

Strong coffee flavor and strong dark chocolate. It melts slowly in your mouth like an incredibly rich coffee shop mocha, like the syrupy part at the very bottom. Eat this sparingly, as your taste buds will grow immune to the flavor after a while. A short break is necessary to get the full experience of each bite.

Whole Foods organic vegetarian chili, mild

3

Flavor is fine, but the contents are a bit uninspired. Can't we get some chunky tomatoes or peppers or corn around here? It's just beans and meaty crumbles.

Eating Right soy protein veggie burgers

3

Meaty texture, very solid and holds up well. Almost too hearty. It's very filling, even without a bun. The taste is okay but intense. The strong soy-meaty flavor will dominate all but the most robust condiments. It also dominates the small pieces of onion actually in the burger. Goes well with crisp onions and lettuce on top.

Sabra roasted garlic hummus

5

Not nearly as good as the flavor with roasted pine nuts, but it still warrants a rating of 5 compared to other hummus brands. Sabra is the smoothest hummus I've ever had. Not even remotely chunky or chalky. This may be due to its high oil content, which makes it also a rather high calorie hummus. So good I lick the tub clean. The chopped garlic on top is delicious too.

Sabra hummus with roasted pine nuts

5+

This is the very best store-bought hummus ever. Fantastic. I could eat it plain with a spoon, but it complements pretzels perfectly. This is the smoothest hummus I've ever had. Not even remotely chunky or chalky. This may be due to its high oil content, which makes it also a rather high calorie hummus. Anyway, it's so good I usually lick the tub clean. The pine nuts and pesto-like spices on top are wonderful too.

Genisoy apple cinnamon crunch soy crisps

4

Great for a low-cal sweet snack. The flavor is reminiscent of dried apple juice, if that even makes sense. The cinnamon flavor is not very strong. Great crunch.

StarLite frozen chicken-style taquitos

5

Kinda greasy, but totally worth it. Not spicy, but irresistibly taco-licious! The corn tortilla varieties are miles better than the flour tortilla varieties, and the chicken style is much better than the beef style. I recommend thawing them in the microwave first and then baking them for about 15 minutes. They're crispier that way.

Whole Foods ginger snaps

4

Very crunchy, nice spicy ginger flavor. I think there are even small chunks of real ginger in them! The resealable bag is great too.

Boca Chik'n Patties, original

5

A bit greasy, but these taste great, even when microwaved. Meaty, crispy, and much more filling than their small size would suggest. Great when eaten plain with a fork or slapped on a bun with some lettuce. Tastes nice plain or with garlic powder or oregano sprinkled on top. You can even microwave these, wrapped in paper towels, and after sitting to cool for a few minutes they will become fairly crispy.

Tofurky Italian sausage

4

Well, for sausage it’s pretty good, so I’m giving it a 4. It tastes best when sliced and sautéed in a bit of oil, with or without added garlic powder. The spicy oil the sausages are packaged in is yummy in and of itself. Anyway, I suppose you could slap one of these on a bun after pan frying or grilling it, or it can be sliced and eaten with pasta.

Market Pantry raisin bran cereal

5

Standard (and therefore awesome!) raisin bran. The flakes are big and crunchy. The raisins are sugar-coated, but that's the only downside.
